Deep in the copper belt of the Democratic Republic of Congo's Katanga province lies one of the world's richest deposits of malachite — a stone so vividly, impossibly green that ancient peoples believed it held the forest itself within its surface. For millennia, malachite has been ground into pigment, carved into amulets, and worn as jewellery by those who understood that beauty and protection are not separate things.

This bold statement necklace brings together tumbled chunks of natural Congolese malachite — each one unique in its swirling dark green banding — with smooth rounds of black onyx, a stone long associated with grounding, strength, and the absorbing of negative energy. The pairing is elemental: the wild, organic patterning of the malachite against the deep, polished stillness of the onyx.
